We have reached a Tentative Agreement with the Company on a contract for 2016-2019. The Union negotiating team is unanimously recommending a YES vote for ratification of this contract. The vote will occur around the 3rd week of January. The date will be announced later. Watch the IBEW SCU-8 website for additional details.
Wages
3% - 2016 retroactive to Dec 5 upon contract ratifcation
3% - 2017
TBD - 2018 (wage + limited benefits reopener)
More details will follow. Realize that many of the Company and Union negotiators will be off around the Christmas holidays so the polished final package that will be voted on will not show up until the beginning of next year.
Union leadership appreciates the feedback and support many of you have given us the last few months during these negotiations. Please be patient a little while longer for the details of more specific proposals that might affect you or your work group. We will get the Memorandum of Changes to you in the beginning of January. There will be at least 1 local meeting between now and the voting day, as well as some explanation meetings as we can work them in.
Again, thanks for your support and have a Merry Christmas. Those of you who are working on Christmas to keep our Christmas lights on, we appreciate it more than words can say.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
